Designed and built by KDA principal Charles Kahn, this 2,500 square foot house is located on an upslope in the Oakland hills. The design reduces the vertical mass on this steeply sloped site by placing the wood-sided house atop a stucco/concrete plinth (base). The interior features contemporary craftsman detailing, vertical grain Douglas fir and natural stone to add texture and warmth.
