Ann Slobod
Ann fled the corporate world in search of an environment where she would feel at home. It wasn't long before she realized that her long-held desire to work with furniture designers and open a furniture store could be transferred to architecture. With this realization she soon joined KDA to help direct the firm's growth and bring its work and mission to the public.
In that capacity, Ann's role at KDA is multi-facetted: with leadership responsibilities in marketing and client relations as well as finance and business management. "I see my role as two-fold: First, to make sure we deliver really great quality work and that it exceeds the client's objectives. And second, to shape the way the firm is understood by the public. I feel that everything we do — from service, to graphics, to the colors we paint our office walls — tells the world who we are and what we care about."
Many years later, Ann is extremely glad she abandoned furniture in favor of architecture. She particularly enjoys seeing how different individuals respond to a set of questions, and is delighted by the collaborative way in which architectural endeavors are realized. She believes that the way buildings and spaces are designed makes a great difference in the environment, is still always thrilled to see the firm's work built and its mission made evident.
Ann joined KDA in 1993 and became a senior associate in 1999.
